We have always used Tires Plus for service on all of our vehicles. However, this will NEVER happen again. We are done with this company for ever. When we have a tire rotation done we expect Tires Plus to let us know if there are any problems with the tires at this...

I'll have to agree with the consumer on this one. I good shop would suggest an alignment based on tire wear. I good shop would not loose a customer's wheel lock key.

Tires Plus

I recently had an appointment for an oil change at Tires Plus in St. Petersburg for 1:00PM. They told me it should take about 45min. to an hour (for an oil change, WTF!) After waiting a while I notice a lot of mechanics hanging around doing nothing and talking on cell phones. To make a long story short it took one and a half hours. One and a half hours of my time and lost wages. Thanks Tires Plus you just lost a customer and I will tell others. I one makes an appointment for a certain time...KEEP TO IT.

It's important to keep a promised time of completion; however, you can't assume that someone is on the clock just because they are in uniform and in the shop. In the United States of America, employers are required to allow their employees time for lunch within the first 5 hours of an 8 hours shift. Sometimes, flat-raters will stay behind even after clocking out in order to organize their tools.

Tires Plus review in Cape Coral, Florida: Service don't care you are waiting

Arrived 20 minutes early for an appointment to change oil rotate tires, They did not take car in for 50 mins from lot behind service counter, changed oil rotated tires as requested did not inform driver the vehicle was completed. Total time at Tires Plus 110 minutes for a 20 minute max appointment and then had to ask if it was complete. Salesman realy not bothered about time taken, other customers are also waiting for materials that had to be brought from other locations believe it or not they also had appointments. 20 minute max appointment? If that's what your expectation is, then you should go to Jiffy Lube.

At a general sevice chain shop, the expectation with an appointment should be around 60 minutes.

Looks like they made you wait an extra 50 minutes.

It was bad that they didn't tell you the car was done. Maybe the service advisor was busy checking out other customers or was busy putting together an estimate or was busy ordering parts.

How about you keep up your end of the bargain and NOT arrive 20 minutes early for your appointment, because what if they were not ready for you until your actual SCHEDULED TIME?

Also, did they say everything would only take 20 mins from when they pulled the car in? Most of these places allot about 1 hour for everything, because they do the free complimentary inspection.

Where they did go wrong is having their cell phones out in the shop floor (although they could have been on lunch and off the clock) and pulling your appointment vehicle 30 minutes later than promised. I hope you got some sort of a discount or a refund.

Tires Plus review in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida: 1 Yr alignment my ***

I recently went to tires plus for an alignment, they explained to me that they could not align my car perfectly because I needed a left outer tie rod end, but explained to me that I had purchased a one year alignment so it was a non-issue because after I fixed the tie rod end they would realign the car for free. so I replaced the tie rod and scheduled an appointment for 4:00 pm they made me wait for 2 hours after the appointment then explained to me that my right inner tie rod was the real problem (not the outer tie rod end) and they could not honor my original 1 year alignment because I had replaced the part and I was a third party? They quoted me 172.46 for the part, negating labor and I purchased it on the internet for $16.15 at http://www.ipdusa.com/version.asp?strPageHistory=category&numSearchStartRecord=0&strParents=75,553,858&P_ID=5426&CAT_ID=858&V_ID=14790, if I have to pay 1000% minus shipping + labor to receive my year alignment, was I ripped off?

Wow! They misdiagnosed the problem.

Imagine if you had paid them to fix the misdiagnosed problem.

I think you misunderstand their 1-year-alignment policy. It doesn't matter who replaces the tie rod. They will still honor the 1-year-alignment.

They couldn't honor the 1-year-alignment this time for mechanic reasons. The reason being that the inner tie rod had play, and that you replaced a perfectly good outer tie rod that they misdiagnosed.

I'm sorry for your troubles with that store but I asure you and others not all stores are ran the same I'm afraid. At our store it the align warr is 12mos/12,000mi which ever comes first and that isn't set in stone. If they had miss diag.the problem than they should have fixed it at no chg.

Plus it doesn't matter who did the work we still honor the warr.

Once again I'm sorry for your troubles but not all Tires Plus Stores are not equal I'm afraid.

Tires Plus U.S. 1 And Walton RD PSL FL

I have a Mazda MPV LX that i have owned for three years.I have always changed the oil myself, and ect. It runs great, the only magor thing I have had to do to it was put a water pump in it,myself of course because these shops are rip offfs. I needed spark plugs and wires put in with my job i just didnt have the time to do it so I took it to TIRES PLUS.After they did the job it sound like a loud a hunk of junk . They tried to tell me i had exaust leaks and vacum leaks every where. Ran fine before I brought it in.These guys suck and tears things up , i had to argue with the manager JACK now its getting fixed for free but i paid $380 for spark plugs and wires and intake manafold gasket,so really what there fixing for free is what thay broke but they tried to act like it was allready like that till he found out I work for Waste Management and we have a shop.So thats for *** up my car TIRE PLUS should be TIRES PLUS WERE GONNA *** YA

I took my car in to tires plus in Conyers on Feb 27, 2010. Because they were busy they provided terrible customer service. They did not inform me that my transmission fluid was low and as a result I may have blown my transmission on a car that has only 115,000 miles on it. Any real auto service company should provide the service that they are being paid for. This is unacceptable and they should be closed down. If they can't handle the high volume of customers and provide good customer service then they should either do additional training or just simply close down on the weekends.

No shop checks transmission fluid during a normal oil change or inspection unless you specifically ask them to or if the tech notices that the transmission does not upshift during a test drive.

Why? Because it takes too long. To properly check automatic transmisson fluid level, the engine has to be at normal engine operating temperature and the engine has to be running at the time of the checking of the transmission dipstick.

Tires Plus review in Madison, Wisconsin: Janesville,WI Great Salesmen Poor Mechanics

My car was pulling to the left, so I took it to Tires Plus. They said a broken sway bar was the problem ($431.58). Also they said I needed a new set of tires ($608.36). Total $1039.94. I was getting a bad feeling when I saw a $20 charge for nitrogen instead of air in the tires. I said no thanks and was charged $22.69 for the estimate. Took the car to my local garage and was told the left front tire needed to be replaced and NOTHING was wrong with the sway bar. I did get a new set of tires and alignment. Cost $477.

The $22.69 probably wasn't for the estimate. It was probably for the inspection and subsequent misdiagnosis/***-job.

Tires Plus review in Missoula, Montana: Should be fraud

Simple shock replacement turns into them wanting to do $1500.00 in work. Telling me parts need replaced when I know they've been replaced already. Telling me they'll be done in 30 min. here I sit 2 hours later. Its bad when you're typing a complaint when you're sitting in the waiting area! This place is worthless. Fat lazy workers. Nothing better then watching them lolly *** in front of the car while the parts are sitting on the bench next to them. He guy that tells me 30 min and gave the original quote is no where to be seen. Great customer service ***.
