Tires Plus some stores rip you off!
Tires Plus review in Deer Park, Washington: Ripped me off on tire alignment
Tires plus ripoff
Tires Plus Not Truthful
Tires Plus review in Stone Mountain, Georgia: Poor customer service
Tires Plus review in Kansas City, Missouri: Lied to, again in Kansas
Their service isn't consistent. At times I can bring a vehicle in and get great service no problem. (I have an account and long time customer with 8 vehicles in their system).
I few issues. Brought one car in for a brake inspection. Said all brakes needed service. Had a mechanic inspect and the rears were at 70%.
They needed another car for 5 hours for a simple oil change. Had a mechanic check it later. It still had the same oil filter on.
Another car had to bring it in 3 times for a proper alignment. Two month later pronounced tire wear on one tire (they won't replace) and told me that it had a bad bushing. Why didn't they catch that on the first 3 alignment checks???!!!
Recently went online for a tire quote with mounting, etc... included.
Call location to verify they sold me they don't even carry that size and will mount another size up for $100 more.
Needless to say I am tired of their poor business practices and will take my money elsewhere.
Some aftermarket remanufactured alternators are really *** It's possible they could have done every honestly, and this still happens. On the other hand, it's possible they lied about the battery being bad. If that's what you suspect, then you should have demanded the battery back before authorizing the work. Of course, you will have to pay for the core charge on the battery if you intend to keep the old battery, but that's not a problem because you can always sell the core and get the core charge back but after you get the battery tested at a reputable shop. Because that's the whole point of demanding the old battery back, so that you can test it.
It's possible a bad battery (or even a discharged one) can kill an alternator and vice versa. A discharged battery will caused the alternator to "full field" and overwork, thereby killing it. An alternator that is overcharging (producing much more than 13.5 volts) will kill a battery.
Remanufactured alternators then to be *** You should have demanded a brand new alternator. Brand new alternators tend to be more reliable. You get what you pay for.
I have had the opposite experience. I have had their lifetime alignment, rotation and balance on my car for 10 years and they have never refused to service it.
Maybe there is something legitimately wrong with your car. You can always go to another tires plus or Firestone (they honor tires plus lifetime alignment as well) location if your worried that your particular location is just trying to rip you off.
I know exactly what you are talking about from Tires Plus. But, I wouldn't fall for their s---.
Had a quote in hand from Tire Plus website.
Store on Bloomingdale suddenly were out of their best (my quote)battery, but only after conferring with the manager. Will never set foot in a Tire Plus store again!

my wife went to the tires plus for oil change specialist for oilchange, they talk her into buy 3 get 4 oil changes, a week later the whole shop/buisness was closed and gone. no notice what so ever, this is bad customer relations. $90.00 and the shop is gone!
I have had the same issues with the Rapid City, SD store. I feel for the extended warrenty and have had it in several times for alignment adjustments.
Thay told me that's just the way it is for my vehicle (2001 GMC Sierra). Took it to another alignment shop and it's been perfect ever since. Went in today for rotation and was told it would be over an hour.
Now they tell me they started taking reservations when before it was it and wait. I will never go back.
:eek Wow, I'm glad to know this. I was just about to take my car to the Tires Plus location in Smyrna, GA for a front end alignment on Monday!
I had a bad experience there about 3 years ago, when I took my car to them for tires, oil change, brakes, etc. This goon that got in my car to drive it into the bay thought my side mirrors were manual, so the ***, instead of observing that they were electric, reached outside the window to move the mirror and broke the *** thing! I didn't realize it Until I had driven off, but I promptly came Back, at which time the manager stood Up for the goon and refused to take responsibility.
With this Many complaints against them, I plan to go elsewhere for my car service. Thanks.
