Tires Plus some stores rip you off!

I have had good success atg Tires Plus on N. May, OKC. However, last week I made the mistake of going to another store closer to me. I am an 80 year old woman but not *** or senile. I went in to have them fix my right front tire which appeared to be having a slow leak. Instead they took about 20 minutes (if that) to give me a TPVI and a Fuel System tuneujp and then said I needed about #1100.00 worth of service but when they saw I was not goingh for that, they said it could wait until next summer. I went home sensing the tire still had a nail or something in it. I got up early the next morning and went to the Tires Plus I trust and sure enough they removed a nail from my front tire.(I had purchased the tires from Tires Plus. I called Discover and told dthem not to pay the first place...this may be a problem but I am going to fight anyway. I have avery limited income and although my car is a 1994 Olds, it is in very good condition and I only drive aboiut 25-30 miles. if that a month. It would have been difficult for me to have a flat somewhere away from my home. This is such a rip off and how many other people have they ripped off.

Tires Plus review in Deer Park, Washington: Ripped me off on tire alignment

After 5 visits to Tires Plus, the front end alignment is still not right. You would think that after 5 visits in 1 week, they would finally get it right. Not Tires Plus. They did not put my hubcaps back on. I had to ask 3 times for my hubcaps back. Don't use Tires Plus The manager tried to sell me a battery. They could not tell me why my transmission is slipping. I was told I do not have a transmission problem. WOW. What professionals. I will never return to any Tires Plus. Does this sound like a scam?

I have had the same issues with the Rapid City, SD store. I feel for the extended warrenty and have had it in several times for alignment adjustments.

Thay told me that's just the way it is for my vehicle (2001 GMC Sierra). Took it to another alignment shop and it's been perfect ever since. Went in today for rotation and was told it would be over an hour.

Now they tell me they started taking reservations when before it was it and wait. I will never go back.

:eek Wow, I'm glad to know this. I was just about to take my car to the Tires Plus location in Smyrna, GA for a front end alignment on Monday!

I had a bad experience there about 3 years ago, when I took my car to them for tires, oil change, brakes, etc. This goon that got in my car to drive it into the bay thought my side mirrors were manual, so the ***, instead of observing that they were electric, reached outside the window to move the mirror and broke the *** thing! I didn't realize it Until I had driven off, but I promptly came Back, at which time the manager stood Up for the goon and refused to take responsibility.

With this Many complaints against them, I plan to go elsewhere for my car service. Thanks.

Tires plus ripoff

i took my car in for a simple flat repair was told that it was patched for 25 dollars.. a week later it was flat took it back in they said it could not be repaired because somehow someone had sprayed flat fix-it in the tire so they could not repair, no one had touched the tire but them .why if it were fixed would someone put in fix-it flat in a repaired tire. i will never use tire plus again. just another excuse to have me buy tires or rims because i was tolded that the rims were bad also causing the tire to leak BULL....

I am from the corporate office of Tires Plus.

Can you send me an email at social@bfrc.com so I can get some more information? I'd like to get involved and try to help.

Thanks,

Steve

Most likely, the first repair was done the lazy way (simply plugging the tire without taking the tire off the rim and patching the inside), which is why they didn't know there was Fix-a-Flat inside the tire (they never looked inside).

If you repair a tire the lazy way, the plug won't stay in the tire because the Fix-a-Flat acts as a lubricant and the air pressure (sometimes) blows the plug out of the tire. (I've seen it happen.)

The Fix-a-Flat website claims that you can repair a tire with Fix-a-Flat in it as long as you clean out all the milky, stinky fluid. However, the truth is that Fix-a-Flat weakens the inside lining of the tire and increases the risk of liability. Businesses have a right to choose which risks they are willing to take on or not take on. Plus, that stuff is nasty. That's a job I am willing to pass on. It's a tough nasty job to get any fluid out of a tire. It's even nastier if it's a foul smelling, hazardous chemical that is flammable. The flammability is no joke. I actually know people who claim that the a tire "exploded" on them while breaking the bead.

In my opinion, Fix-a-Flat is nothing but trouble. A spare tire, a jack, and a lug wrench is much better than Fix-a-Flat. The only scenarios where Fix-a-Flat is appropriate is if

1) You got a flat at a dangerous location where you can't safely change the tire (for example in the middle of a bad neighborhood).

2) You are late to a job interview or other important event/occasion.

3) You are dressed in expensive clothing.

Tires Plus Not Truthful

We were told that our car was not drivable and that our drums were bad and needed replaced. Because we heard the same story before from the same people on another car that we had in to them, we decided to check it with another car mechanic. Turns out - we did not need new drums and in fact they were in perfect condition. Praise God we checked with someone else before spending hundreds of dollars. WE don't like to trash any business, but do want to warn other folks of what we experienced. Beware of working with these mechanics.

Tires Plus review in Stone Mountain, Georgia: Poor customer service

I would not use Tires Plus in Suwanee(in Walmart shopping center). Have had several bad experiences with them. Their management does not care about customer service so therefore the employees don't either. They try to get you in store with a cheap oil change or a free AC check and then they try to convince you of expensive other items that need repair even if not a problem. They charge $189 to do a transmission flush as an example. You can go places that charge $89 like Texaco's Express Lube and get things done in about a 5th of the time. A standard rotate and balance at Tires Plus will almost always take 2 hours to complete the service. That's 20 - 25 mins to do the work, but the wait takes at least 1 hour and 35/40 mins. Don't trust them at all with anything that is said! They have enough business that they don't care about losing customers here or there which shows in their lack of customer service.

Tires Plus review in Kansas City, Missouri: Lied to, again in Kansas

My A/C wasn't working, happened all of the sudden, took it in to Tires Plus and they told me it was the compressor and would be $1350 to replace and charge. I took it to another shop, not a chain, they said it was a faulty valve, replaced the $5 part, and charged it, total, $200. I asked why they would have told me the compressor was bad, they said that Tires Plus employees get commission on their sales. This is not the first time this has happened, but after the change in management I decided to give them a shot again, dumb move. I'll go back for tire rotations since they are free, but that is it.

I was a long time customer of Tires Plus, I went in yesterday after seeing a nail in my tire, the car was drivable and I went in and they wanted $24.00 to remove the nail and patch the hole. They then told me that the $24.00 would be a waste of money because the tires...

Their service isn't consistent. At times I can bring a vehicle in and get great service no problem. (I have an account and long time customer with 8 vehicles in their system).

I few issues. Brought one car in for a brake inspection. Said all brakes needed service. Had a mechanic inspect and the rears were at 70%.

They needed another car for 5 hours for a simple oil change. Had a mechanic check it later. It still had the same oil filter on.

Another car had to bring it in 3 times for a proper alignment. Two month later pronounced tire wear on one tire (they won't replace) and told me that it had a bad bushing. Why didn't they catch that on the first 3 alignment checks???!!!

Recently went online for a tire quote with mounting, etc... included.

Call location to verify they sold me they don't even carry that size and will mount another size up for $100 more.

Needless to say I am tired of their poor business practices and will take my money elsewhere.

Some aftermarket remanufactured alternators are really *** It's possible they could have done every honestly, and this still happens. On the other hand, it's possible they lied about the battery being bad. If that's what you suspect, then you should have demanded the battery back before authorizing the work. Of course, you will have to pay for the core charge on the battery if you intend to keep the old battery, but that's not a problem because you can always sell the core and get the core charge back but after you get the battery tested at a reputable shop. Because that's the whole point of demanding the old battery back, so that you can test it.

It's possible a bad battery (or even a discharged one) can kill an alternator and vice versa. A discharged battery will caused the alternator to "full field" and overwork, thereby killing it. An alternator that is overcharging (producing much more than 13.5 volts) will kill a battery.

Remanufactured alternators then to be *** You should have demanded a brand new alternator. Brand new alternators tend to be more reliable. You get what you pay for.

Tires Plus gives the hard sale on their lifetime wheel alignment and balance but when you try to use it they are always too busy to provide the service. When they do have the time there is always a reason(s) the car can't be aligned or balanced; something is bent...

I have had the opposite experience. I have had their lifetime alignment, rotation and balance on my car for 10 years and they have never refused to service it.

Maybe there is something legitimately wrong with your car. You can always go to another tires plus or Firestone (they honor tires plus lifetime alignment as well) location if your worried that your particular location is just trying to rip you off.

I know exactly what you are talking about from Tires Plus. But, I wouldn't fall for their s---.

Had a quote in hand from Tire Plus website.

Store on Bloomingdale suddenly were out of their best (my quote)battery, but only after conferring with the manager. Will never set foot in a Tire Plus store again!
